Granite President and CEO Testifies Before U.S. Senate Committee on Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act

WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- James H. Roberts, President and Chief Executive Officer of Granite Construction Incorporated (NYS: GVA) today appeared before the United States Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on the importance of the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act ("TIFIA") and the need for increased investment in highway and public transportation.

In testimony given to the Committee today representing the Associated General Contractors of America ("AGC"), Roberts said, "The solution to meeting our transportation infrastructure needs is twofold. First, Congress and the Administration must work together in a bipartisan way to increase user fees and identify new revenue sources to address our transportation needs, both now and in the future.

"Second, there must be more private-sector involvement in the construction of transportation projects. AGC believes the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act program, has a proven record of accomplishing this objective."
