The recent confirmation that it's on the prowl for a possible buyer only helped to reiterate what observers of the global smartphone market have known for some time -- Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry is in some seriously hot water. The company has seen its global share of the smartphone market slowly shrivel over the several quarters, and was recently passed by Microsoft as the No. 3 player in the smartphone market.
